Dropship Trap

A Dropship Trap represented a specific kind of Starship Trap that was implemented by the Alliance to Restore the Republic as well as the Galactic Empire for territorial defense on planets such as Tatooine. Functioning as a proximity sensor after initial placement, these circular mechanisms would transition into a homing beacon upon activation of their sensor. Subsequently, faction dropships would be summoned to quickly dispatch ground forces to the region near the trap, thereby catching adversaries off guard.
