Mission to Hrakert Station

The confrontation at Hrakert Station unfolded during the Jedi Civil War. It pitted Revan, a Jedi Padawan who had once been the Dark Lord of the Sith, against Darth Malak's Shadow Hand, Darth Bandon, the reigning Dark Lord. This clash occurred at Hrakert Station, a Republic base for kolto harvesting, situated on Manaan, the homeworld of the Selkath. The lightsaber duel concluded with the deaths of Bandon and his two Dark Jedi companions.

Prelude

The year 3956 BBY, marking the end of the Jedi Civil War, saw Revan, formerly a Dark Lord of the Sith and now a Republic soldier with amnesia, aiding Jedi Knight Bastila Shan in her escape from the destruction of Taris, a sprawling ecumenopolis. Following their journey to Dantooine, Revan underwent retraining as a Padawan under the guidance of the local Jedi Council. Upon finishing his training, the Council charged Revan with locating the Star Forge, an ancient Rakatan space station then controlled by Darth Malak, Revan's former Sith apprentice and the current Dark Lord.

After discovering a fourth Star Map, crucial for pinpointing the Star Forge, Darth Bandon, Malak's apprentice and Shadow Hand, along with two Dark Jedi, intercepted Revan and his allies at Hrakert Station. This station served as a Republic kolto harvesting facility on Manaan, the homeworld of the Selkath.

The duel

Darth Bandon voiced his disappointment to Revan, lamenting that another might have slain the Jedi, thus denying the Sith Lord the satisfaction of personally eliminating Revan. Despite Revan's previous killing of bounty hunter Calo Nord on Tatooine, Bandon asserted Revan's inferiority. Revan questioned Bandon's presence at the station, to which Bandon revealed he had used the same underwater route that Darth Revan and Darth Malak had employed in their search for the Star Forge. Revan vowed retribution for the death of Republic ensign Trask Ulgo, whom Bandon had slain during an attack on Bastila Shan's Republic warship Endar Spire over Taris. Dismissing Revan's threats, Bandon inquired if Revan wished to beg for his life. A lightsaber duel ensued between Bandon and his two Dark Jedi against Revan and his companions, culminating in the defeat of Bandon and his allies at the hands of the former Sith Lord.

Aftermath

Shortly after his demise, Sith Acolytes severed Bandon's head from his corpse. Preserving the head, they believed it contained power. It remained in that state for over 300 years before being displayed in the House Alde Royal Museum on Alderaan during the Cold War.

Behind the scenes

The Hrakert Station mission was first featured in Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic, a video game released in 2003 by BioWare.

The planet where Revan faces Bandon depends on the order in which the fourth of the five Star Maps, leading to the Star Forge, is acquired. Revan might confront Bandon on the desert planet Tatooine, the Wookiee homeworld Kashyyyk, Manaan, or the Sith tombworld Korriban. Furthermore, Bandon could challenge Revan if he revisited the locations of the second and third Star Maps.
