The Duel at Almas Academy refers to a lightsaber duel that took place within the dilapidated Almas Academy.
After the establishment of the Galactic Empire, the New Order initiated a systematic pursuit of the Jedi Order's members. Amidst this turmoil, two Twi'lek Jedi who had managed to survive, Jedi Master Vhiin Thorla together with his Padawan Dorv'Tilsta, journeyed to the remains of the Almas Academy, a one-time Jedi academy, hoping to find other Jedi who had survived. However, during their search, the Imperial Inquisitor Valin Draco and his apprentice, the Dark Jedi Raik Muun, appeared at the Academy, in order to investigate a dark side force nexus located in the vicinity of the ruins.
The Jedi on the run were discovered by Draco and Muun, which triggered an intense lightsaber battle between the two sides. Muun employed a t'salak to provoke a homicidal fury within Tilsta, leading the young Jedi to turn against his own master, thereby compelling Thorla to eliminate the Padawan. Consequently, Thorla was consumed by remorse, which diminished his strength, allowing Draco and Muun to subdue and imprison him.
