Sandstorm

A Mos Espa sandstorm occurring just outside the city.

Vast quantities of sand and dirt were swept up by powerful winds, creating a weather phenomenon referred to as a sandstorm or dust storm. These events were common on planets characterized by desert landscapes, including Tatooine, Geonosis, Seelos, Jakku, and Ponemah Terminal. The desert moon known as Oba Diah was also subject to sandstorms. On Lothal, the Galactic Empire's practice of strip-mining the planet led to a delayed spring season, resulting in an unusual cold and what Merei Spanjaf characterized as severe dust storms, which caused her to cough even when indoors, leading her to express frustration with their impact.
