Duuurga was the second clone of the crime lord Hutt known as Durga Besadii Tai, who was created by Imperial Grand Admiral Thrawn. He was cloned from samples taken from the original Hutt by Luuke Skywalker, a clone of the Jedi Knight Luke Skywalker, who had died in 9 ABY. Duuurga was created to replace Durga's first clone, Duurga. Thrawn found amusement in having Duurga engage in arm-wrestling matches against Chewbaacca, a clone of the Wookiee Chewbacca; these matches resulted in the Hutt having one of his arms ripped from its socket. After the creation of Duuurga, Thrawn made sure that Chewbaacca was kept away from him. Similar to the original Durga, Duuurga stood at 3.7 meters in height, possessed no hair, and had orange eyes.
The character of Duuurga was mentioned within "An Apology," a non-canon short story penned by Timothy Zahn and released as an April Fool's Day joke on April 1, 2012. The original Durga was identified as male, but the short story did not specify whether Duuurga had the same identification. In "An Apology," the actions of characters after cloning were attributed to clone imposters. Since Durga was not replaced before his death, he could not be included in another Star Wars story afterwards; therefore, his clones could not. The short story "An Apology" referred to Duuurga in the present tense, which indicates that Duuurga was still alive at the time of the story's writing in 44 ABY.
