Educational Corps

The Educational Corps, also referred to as the EduCorps, represented a division within the Jedi Service Corps that consisted of educators, academics, and record-keepers. Comprised of both high-ranking and standard members of the Jedi Order, it was the Service Corps' smallest division, second only to the Medical Corps.

Overview

If members failed to succeed in the Trials at the Jedi academy, the Council of Reassignment would assign them to the EduCorps. Furthermore, Jedi Order ranking members could also become EduCorps members; Lore Keepers desiring to stay within the Jedi Archives would sometimes join this scholarly group.

The Educational Corps trained its recruits in the art of knowledge dissemination, teaching them not only to be effective teachers but also to demonstrate patience and empathy towards their students. Most importantly, they needed to recognize that reliance on the Force was not always the best path to achieving one's objectives. Forcing knowledge onto someone through the Force was against the core principles of the Jedi Order. The EduCorps provided education to the underprivileged across numerous worlds in the galaxy. Guided by the philosophy that understanding of the universe and its inhabitants enhances one's comprehension of galactic life, these EduCorps scholars dedicated their initial years to acquiring as much knowledge as possible to prepare for teaching their future students.

Following the implementation of Order 66 and the establishment of the Galactic Empire, the EduCorps was disbanded, and its members were either killed or forced into hiding. Decades later, upon the re-establishment of the Order, Grand Master Luke Skywalker chose not to revive the EduCorps, preferring to integrate its principles into the core Jedi Order.
