The EG-6 power droid, which is also referred to as the EG-6 series droid, represented a specific type of EG power droid that saw utilization throughout the eras of both the Galactic Republic and the Galactic Empire. This particular droid model continued to function on various planets, including Jakku, even in the years that came after the conclusion of the Galactic Civil War. Their physical appearance bore a strong resemblance to the GNK-series power droid, frequently known as the Gonk droid, so much so that EG-6 droids were themselves often called gonk droids.
