Star Wars: Empire's End 1: Triumph of the Empire marked the initial installment in the two-part comic book saga, Star Wars: Empire's End. Dark Horse Comics published it on October 24, 1995.
The Emperor has returned, and this time he seeks vengeance! After his confrontation with Luke Skywalker in Star Wars: Dark Empire II, Emperor Palpatine had to inhabit a weaker clone body. This body is now deteriorating quickly, and Palpatine faces permanent destruction unless he can imbue his clone lineage with genetic components from a Jedi's lineage. His intended victim is Anakin, the youngest offspring of Han and Leia!
The storyline presented in this comic was used as the basis for the Empire's End (audio) audio drama, incorporating music from John Williams' film scores.
