During Palpatine's reign as Galactic Emperor of the Galactic Empire, Empress Leeya oversaw the Regency Worlds. Subsequently, Palpatine, exposing himself as the Sith Lord Darth Sidious, implored his granddaughter, the Jedi Padawan Rey, to yield to the dark side by ending his life and seizing the Throne of the Sith as Empress. The Sith Lord, channeling his predecessors, aimed to transfer his essence into Rey's being and dominate her, but she avowed her identity as a Jedi and ultimately triumphed over Sidious.
