Eradicators, designated Special Project 62991A, represent a clandestine weapons program. These satellite-based systems were conceived during the era known as the Cold War by the Sith Empire, with partial development attributed to the Imperial Science Bureau.
The Eradicators represented a unique fusion of organic and mechanical engineering. Their construction involved a metallic exterior housing an organic power source. This allowed them to be cultivated, rather than strictly manufactured, provided sufficient space was available for their propagation. A single Eradicator, when positioned in orbit around a planet, possessed the capacity to obliterate an entire urban center. Activation required a specific set of codes; however, prolonged periods of inactivity resulted in the Eradicators autonomously targeting locations on the planet they encircled.
Darth Jadus secretly initiated the Eradicator project. This was a central component of his scheme to instill fear and terror throughout the Sith Empire. He orchestrated his apparent demise to deflect suspicion and avoid scrutiny from the Dark Council. The Sith Lord's strategy involved manipulating an anti-Imperial terrorist faction, led by an individual known as the Eagle, who unknowingly cultivated the Eradicators under Jadus's direction. To ensure their deployment, the activation codes were divided, with half entrusted to the Eagle and the remainder retained by Darth Jadus. The intended targets included Dromund Kaas and the elimination of the Dark Council. Darth Jadus planned to capitalize on the ensuing chaos to seize control of the Empire and usher in a new era. However, Cipher Nine of Imperial Intelligence uncovered his scheme and successfully neutralized the weapons before their deployment.
Alternatively, Cipher Nine had the option to provide Darth Jadus with the Eradicator activation codes, using the ensuing devastation as an opportunity to ambush Jadus when he was vulnerable. Cipher Nine could also accept Jadus's proposition of power and freedom from Sith politics, handing over the codes to facilitate the elimination of Jadus's Dark Council rivals and their resources and apprentices. In recognition of Cipher Nine's loyalty, Jadus would formally designate the Cipher as the "Hand of Jadus" upon his return to the Dark Council.
