Escara Frei was a female Human inhabiting the desert planet of Tatooine during the period of the Galactic Civil War.
Following the events of the Battle of Yavin, Escara Frei made her home in Mos Eisley. She held sympathies for the Imperial cause and maintained a friendship with Imperial Captain Jasha who was located in Bestine.
In the year 1 ABY, Frei and a man by the name of Jorund Redd found themselves caught in the middle of a firefight that erupted between Lady Valarian's guards and the thugs belonging to Jabba the Hutt in Mos Eisley. The elderly woman sustained injuries from blaster fire, though they were not life-threatening. A medic, dispatched by the 2-1B droid Billingsly to assist Administrator Nillika and the local medical personnel, provided treatment for her injuries. Frei then suggested that the medic consider reaching out to Captain Jasha to potentially work for the Empire.
Later in that same year, she paid a visit to Mikdanyell Guh'rantt, the mayor of Mos Eisley, to voice her concerns regarding the disturbances created by certain unscrupulous merchants.
Escara Frei appeared as a non-player character within the 2003 video game Star Wars Galaxies, a massively multiplayer online roleplaying game that was developed by Sony Online Entertainment and released by LucasArts, before it was shut down on December 15, 2011. Escara Frei's inclusion in the game occurred with the launch of "Publish 25," also known as the "New Game Enhancements," on November 15, 2005.
Escara Frei's location was near the starport and the medical center situated in Mos Eisley. She played a role in the low-level quest titled "Caught in the Crossfire" which was designed for players who had chosen the Medic profession. The player would be contacted by Billingsly and would then need to engage in conversation with Frei in order to administer treatment for her wounds.
