Farin was a Galactic Empire officer during the era of the Galactic Empire, identified as a male Human. Following the [Battle of Yavin](/article/battle_of_yavin/legends], Lieutenant Farin received a posting to an Imperial space station situated in the Outer Rim Territories; his colleagues there included Lieutenant Alin, Captain Clough, Warrant Officer Snopell, Captain Bailie, Colonel Sheray, and Major Taison. In 1 ABY, an Imperial-class Star Destroyer seized a passenger freighter, suspecting it of harboring criminals. Several spacers were arrested and brought to the Imperial space station. Subsequent to the spacers' release, Lieutenant Farin processed them through the station until their departure.
Within the 2003 video game Star Wars Galaxies, Farin existed as a non-player character. This game was a massively multiplayer online roleplaying game developed by Sony Online Entertainment and published by LucasArts. The game was shut down on December 15, 2011.
The game developers included Lieutenant Farin in the game upon the release of "Publish 17," on May 26, 2005 when they revamped the "New Player Tutorial." Throughout the tutorial, Farin, along with other Imperial officers, guided new players through a space station, aiding them in understanding the game mechanics. However, Farin was removed when the developers introduced a completely new tutorial with the release of the "New Game Enhancements," on November 15, 2005.
