Fireball (clone pilot)
Fireball, also known as "Fib," served as a Captain and a skilled clone trooper pilot, commanding Gold Squadron.
Biography
His squadron operated from the Indomitable, a vessel under the leadership of Admiral Wullf Yularen and General Skywalker. He boldly sported scarlet-colored hair with a single black stripe, while remaining dedicated to both his team and the Republic. Prior to the battle of Kothlis against the Separatist Alliance, Skywalker briefed the pilots on the impending conflict. Upon learning that communications were disrupted, he addressed his men, boosting their morale. During the engagement, he briefly flew alongside Skywalker, returning a quick smile to Skywalker's thumbs-up, before heading off to engage additional droid starfighters. He numbered among the pilots who survived the battle, pursuing the remaining enemy fighters while his General touched down on the planet's surface.
Some weeks later, he and his squadron were relaxing at a Republic Service Organization establishment on Coruscant. He engaged in a game of turbo-darts alongside members of Torrent Company when Ahsoka Tano, Skywalker's Padawan, arrived to inform them about an upcoming assignment. Skywalker and Kenobi had gone missing on Lanteeb, and a rescue mission was planned to save them before the Separatist General Lok Durd could deploy his bioweapon.
Upon the arrival of the Republic flotilla above Lanteeb, they encountered a blockade of Separatist vessels commanded by General Grievous. Senator Bail Organa had supplied a captured Separatist spy vessel for use as a decoy, allowing Jedi Master Taria Damsin to land and assist Skywalker and Kenobi. Fireball received orders to "attack" the vessel as a deception, successfully convincing Grievous to allow the ship passage through the blockade. Fireball narrowly avoided being struck by a droid starfighter, evading the blast. Despite Gold Squadron suffering the loss of nearly a quarter of its pilots, the battle concluded victoriously when a corporate fleet arrived to reinforce the Republic, compelling Grievous to retreat.
Personality and traits
His hair was dyed a scarlet color, accented by a black streak. According to Ahsoka Tano, he was considered the most skilled pilot within Gold Squadron, second only to Skywalker. He also found enjoyment in playing turbo-darts.
