Firestorm (short story)

"Firestorm" is a concise narrative crafted by Kevin J. Anderson, complemented by illustrations from Doug Shuler. Initially, it saw publication within Star Wars Adventure Journal 15, issued by West End Games during November of 1997. The events of the story unfold between the storylines of Jedi Search and _Dark Apprentice_, highlighting the characters of Tionne alongside Luke Skywalker.

Story Synopsis

With the Galactic Empire broken, Tionne was finally free to pursue her ambition of studying the ancient histories and traditions of the Jedi Order. She journeyed to Ossus, even though it remained radioactive, despite four millennia having passed since devastating supernovae. She found a small statue before departing the contaminated world.

Concurrently, Luke Skywalker arrived at Yavin 4, accompanied by his new Jedi apprentices, Streen and Gantoris. They began the tedious process of reclaiming a Massassi temple from the jungle, with the aim of transforming it into the future Jedi Praxeum.

Tionne traveled across the galaxy, singing songs about Jedi history in small cantinas. One day, a man named Fonterrat offered her information pertaining to the Jedi - the location of the lost ancient space station, Exis Station, now orbiting the volatile star Teedio. Tionne could only afford to pay Fonterrat a small amount for this information, but she urged the smuggler to contact Luke Skywalker, believing he could offer a much larger reward.

While delivering supplies to Luke on Yavin 4, Han Solo informed Luke that a smuggler, Fonterrat, had given him intel about Exis Station. Luke expressed his intention to visit the station and consulted the holocron of Bodo Baas to gain more knowledge about it.

Tionne piloted her ship, the Lore Seeker, to Exis Station successfully. Separately, Luke flew his X-Wing to the station, facing challenges from the sun's solar storms.

Once aboard, Tionne found several valuable crystalline memory plaques, filled with ancient Jedi teachings. Soon after, the station began collapsing, and Tionne met Luke. Together with R2-D2, Tionne and Luke faced many dangers within the failing station, and ultimately escaped.

Luke invited Tionne to Yavin 4 so she could share the Jedi history she had gathered. During their journey, he tested her connection to the Force, and realized she had the potential to become a Jedi.
