Freyyr, whose pronunciation is approximately /fɹeɹ/, held the position of Wookiee Chieftain. He hailed from the village called Rwookrrorro found on the planet Kashyyyk, and was the father to both Zaalbar and Chuundar.
Zaalbar, one of Freyyr's sons, was banished from their home planet of Kashyyyk after being labeled a madclaw for his violent actions against his brother, Chuundar, who was involved with slavers. Capitalizing on this situation, Chuundar began to disseminate false information suggesting his father, Freyyr, was becoming increasingly unstable. Ultimately, Chuundar succeeded in deposing Freyyr from his leadership role and exiling him to the dangerous Shadowlands, also branding him with the madclaw label.
Later, Zaalbar returned to Kashyyyk in the company of Revan and Revan's allies. Chuundar requested that Revan eliminate "a deranged Wookiee" residing within the Shadowlands. Upon venturing into the perilous Lower Shadowlands to investigate, Revan uncovered the truth. By the time they encountered him, Freyyr had indeed become feral. He failed to recognize Jolee Bindo, the ex-Jedi who had once assisted him in escaping enslavement by the Czerka Corporation, and launched an attack on both Revan and Jolee. After a struggle, Freyyr was restrained. Rather than killing him, Revan managed to communicate with Freyyr and learn the real reasons behind his and Zaalbar's exiles.
Following discussions, Revan consented to assist Freyyr by recovering the blade component of Bacca's Ceremonial Blade. This piece was eventually located within the lair of a terentatek that had been lurking nearby. However, because Chuundar still possessed the hilt of the sword, he still maintained some authority with the Wookiees of Rwookrrorro. Bacca's Ceremonial Blade was a revered artifact for the Wookiees, symbolizing the authority of all chieftains since Bacca himself. With the complete blade in their possession, Freyyr, Revan, and their companions returned to the village. After a brief skirmish with some of Chuundar's followers, they initiated an uprising against Chuundar and his supporters, the Czerka Corporation, resulting in Chuundar's death.
Freyyr was reinstated as the village chieftain. At Zaalbar's request, Freyyr presented Zaalbar with the blade as a gesture of gratitude and as a sign of remorse for his past exile.
In the alternative dark side conclusion, Revan has the option to slay Freyyr and provide assistance to Chuundar. Another option is to deceive Freyyr by escorting him to Chuundar's location, and then collaborate with Chuundar, Zaalbar, Wookiees loyal to Chuundar, and Czerka guards to eliminate Freyyr. Freyyr's warblade can be discovered by the Jedi Exile in the game Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic II: The Sith Lords.
