Freyyr's warblade

A formidable double-bladed Wookiee warblade was wielded by Freyyr, a male Wookiee who held the position of chieftain in the village of Rwookrrorro on the planet Kashyyyk. This weapon is known as Freyyr's warblade. Following his removal from the chieftain position by his son, Chuundar, in 3956 BBY, Freyyr utilized the warblade during his time in exile within the Shadowlands, located deep within Kashyyyk's forests. It was this very weapon that Freyyr used to engage the amnesiac former Sith Lord, Revan, and the former Jedi Jolee Bindo when they were searching for a Rakatan Star Map within the Shadowlands. Sometime prior to the Dark Wars, the sword, bearing Freyyr's carved emblem, was removed from Kashyyyk, the Wookiee homeworld.

Description

The warblade that belonged to Freyyr was a considerably strong melee weapon, featuring a double-bladed design and adorned with the symbol of Freyyr, a Wookiee chieftain from the village of Rwookrrorro. Like other warblades used by Wookies, it required two hands to wield effectively. The blades had a silver hue, while the handle of the weapon was colored in a shade of brown.

History

Freyyr with his warblade in the Shadowlands

The Wookiee chieftain Freyyr, a resident of the village Rwookrrorro on the planet Kashyyyk during the Jedi Civil War, was the owner of Freyyr's warblade. After being overthrown by his son, Chuundar, in 3956 BBY, he brought the double-bladed weapon with him when he was exiled to the Shadowlands, the lowest level of the forests on Kashyyyk. During his time in the Shadowlands, Freyyr's behavior became almost feral, leading him to attack anyone he encountered, even those he considered friends. When [Revan](/article/revan-legends], the amnesiac former Sith Lord, was searching for a Rakatan Star Map on Kashyyyk, his search led him to the Shadowlands, where he enlisted the help of the former Jedi Jolee Bindo. Freyyr encountered Revan and Bindo in the Shadowlands and, due to his wild behavior, attacked them with his warblade despite his previous friendship with Bindo.

However, Revan and Bindo were able to defeat Freyyr without killing him. They reasoned with him and uncovered the circumstances of his exile.

By the time of the Dark Wars, Freyyr's warblade had been removed from Kashyyyk, the Wookiee homeworld, and was no longer in his possession. At that time, the weapon had a value of 29,955 credits.

Behind the scenes

Freyyr's other sword

The 2003 video game Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic, developed by BioWare, marked the initial appearance of Freyyr's warblade. While Freyyr possessed the warblade during scenes set in the Kashyyyk Shadowlands, it was not the same sword he used later in the game when reclaiming his position as chieftain from Chuundar. During that coup, Freyyr wielded a single-bladed weapon resembling the vibroblades featured in the game. The 2004 video game Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic II: The Sith Lords, developed by Obsidian Entertainment, was the first to refer to the weapon as Freyyr's warblade. In The Sith Lords, it was a rare melee weapon found randomly throughout the game. Consequently, players were not guaranteed to find it in every playthrough. Freyyr's warblade was among the most powerful melee weapons available in the game, and it also provided an increased attack bonus.
