The ceremony commemorating the passing of Kol Skywalker occurred following the demise of Jedi Master Kol Skywalker during the tragic events of the Massacre at Ossus. His sacrifice provided a crucial window for his former apprentice, Wolf Sazen, to flee with his offspring, Cade, along with Shado Vao and several Jedi younglings. Skywalker's life was ended by Darth Nihl, the Fist of the One Sith, who callously abandoned the Jedi Master's corpse.
After venturing into the Ossus wilds in search of specimens, Yuuzhan Vong Master Shaper Nei Rin discovered Skywalker's remains at the Ossus Academy and arranged for a dignified farewell. As the flames consumed his body, Skywalker's physical form dissolved, merging with the Force. In remembrance of Skywalker and the Jedi heritage, Rin, together with Liaan Lah and Choka Skell, collected all available Jedi relics, safeguarding them within the Academy's lower levels.
