Garel Shuttle 3765

Shuttle 3765, Garel-based, served as a GX1 short hauler stationed on the planet Garel. During 4 BBY, Sabine Wren and Chopper of the Spectres commandeered this shuttle after acquiring the GNK-series power droid designated EG-86. A battle ensued, leaving the shuttle damaged, against the ship Shadow Caster, piloted by the bounty hunter Ketsu Onyo. Later, Sabine and Ketsu detonated the shuttle as a means of escaping from an Arquitens-class command cruiser.

Description

Stationed on Garel, Garel Shuttle 3765 was a GX1 short hauler type of vessel. An unidentified RX-Series pilot droid was responsible for piloting it. This shuttle included a hyperdrive and a docking ring.

History

During the Age of the Empire, Garel Shuttle 3765 functioned as a transport for passengers traveling to and from Garel. The shuttle made a typical stop at Garel City Spaceport in 4 BBY. The rebels Sabine Wren and Chopper then hijacked Shuttle 3765, after picking up the courier droid EG-86, with the intention of meeting other rebel members at Havoc Outpost. Chopper deactivated the ship's RX-Series pilot droid when it objected to the unauthorized flight. They were pursued by Ketsu Onyo, a former friend of Sabine's who now worked for the Black Sun crime syndicate and had been tasked with capturing EG-86.

Before Shuttle 3765 could engage its hyperspace drive, Ketsu intercepted them in the Shadow Caster and disabled the hyperdrive. During the ensuing battle, she blasted open the shuttle's side door, causing Chopper to be ejected into the vacuum of space. However, Chopper managed to engage his rocker boosters and flew behind the Shadow Caster. Ketsu then positioned the Shadow Caster's front directly in front of the Shuttle and delivered an ultimatum to Sabine. While Sabine created a distraction, Chopper disabled the Shadow Caster's weapon systems.

Sabine then tried to escape aboard Shuttle 3765, opening the rear ramp to allow Chopper to board. However, Ketsu used her Tractor beam to capture Chopper. She then offered a trade, holding Chopper as a hostage. The Shadow Caster then extended a docking rig to Shuttle 3765. After a brief confrontation, Ketsu apologized to Sabine after realizing the extent of Sabine's commitment to the rebellion. As the two former friends reconciled, an Imperial light cruiser appeared and announced its intention to board both vessels.

Sabine devised a plan to destroy Shuttle 3765 while they escaped in the Shadow Caster to evade the Imperials. She successfully deceived the cruiser's commander into granting them two minutes to stabilize the shuttle's engines before boarding. Following Sabine's instructions, Chopper overloaded the hyperdrive while she placed explosives throughout the shuttle. Sabine then reactivated the RX-series pilot droid and instructed it to initiate emergency protocol. The cruiser's commander, noticing the ship's engines powering up, began firing on the shuttle. Sabine and her companions managed to escape aboard the Shadow Caster before Shuttle 3765 exploded, destroying the pilot droid and damaging the Imperial light cruiser. With Ketsu's assistance, Sabine and Chopper successfully met with other rebels at Havoc Outpost.
