Gaul Panteer, the Human male Crown Prince, stood as the successor to the Alderaanian throne. He was the son of Queen Silara Panteer and also served as the planet's senator during the time of the Great Galactic War.
In the waning years of the Great Galactic War, following the Sith invasion of Alderaan, he, alongside other prominent Alderaanian figures, became a proponent for military intervention within the Galactic Senate. This stance was a departure from the traditionally peaceful reputation of their homeworld. As a senator, he cast his vote in favor of Alderaan's secession from the Galactic Republic after the widely debated signing of the Treaty of Coruscant. While this decision sparked outrage among Alderaanians who wished to remain within the Republic, it garnered support from a significant portion of the population.
Shortly after making this contentious decision, he was assassinated by an agent of House Rist (who was in the service of House Ulgo). Queen Silara died merely days afterwards in a shuttle accident within the Glarus Valley. With no designated heir to assume the throne, Alderaan was plunged into a civil war involving several noble houses vying for power.
