The thirteen island groups collectively known as the Gem Cities of Kwenn were located on the planet of Kwenn. These islands underwent a significant transformation during the Grand Renewal, a project classified as one of the Great Works during the High Republic Era. This renewal saved Kwenn from near destruction. The Gem Cities were organized into three distinct chains. The Windward Chain consisted of Brazatta, Vorah, Zyboh, and the Parva Keys. The Middle Chain comprised Quarney, Langdam, Kinnawah, Capital, Gala, and the Essafa Keys. Finally, the Leeward Chain included Rayley, Malbaira, and the Addoa Keys. These islands were linked together by a network of bridges, and the casino barge known as the Pelagic.
The novel The Living Force, authored by John Jackson Miller and released in 2024, featured the Gem Cities of Kwenn. A map illustrating Kwenn's islands was included within the novel, with a colored version specifically available in the Barnes & Noble exclusive release.
