The Geonosian droid military force represented a droid army manufactured by the Geonosians for the Confederacy of Independent Systems. Upon the Jedi Order and the Galactic Republic's discovery of the army's existence, they deployed the newly formed Grand Army of the Republic to Geonosis, an event that ignited the First Battle of Geonosis and subsequently escalated into the vast, galactic-spanning Clone Wars. This force was composed of B1-series battle droids sporting a darker color palette, B2-series super battle droids, and droidekas.
This extensive droid army known as the Geonosian droid army was built on the Outer Rim world of Geonosis. The army was comprised of numerous B1-series battle droids with a dark color scheme, along with B2-series super battle droids, and droidekas. Additionally, a smaller legion of battle droids participated in a battle that occurred on Geonosis.
The Geonosian droid army made its initial appearance in the 2002 film Star Wars: Episode II Attack of the Clones, part of the prequel trilogy. Its formal identification occurred later in Rise of the Separatists, a 2019 addition to Fantasy Flight Games' Star Wars Roleplaying game series.
