Geriel was a male Human who had sought safety as a refugee from the tumultuous times of both the Mandalorian Wars and the Jedi Civil War. He made his home within the Refugee Sector of Nar Shaddaa, the moon orbiting the planet Nal Hutta. This was during the concluding period of the Dark Wars around 3951 BBY. During this time, a severe sickness overcame him, one that his fellow refugees identified as a highly infectious plague. When the former Jedi Knight Meetra Surik visited the moon, she utilized her healing abilities to cure Geriel of his ailment. Overjoyed and deeply appreciative, Geriel gifted Surik with a component for a lightsaber.
Geriel, a male Human, resided in the Refugee Sector of Nar Shaddaa, the moon orbiting the planet Nal Hutta. His arrival on the moon was prompted by his status as a refugee fleeing the Mandalorian and Jedi Civil Wars during the twilight of the Dark Wars around 3951 BBY. During this time, he fell ill, with the other refugees believing he had contracted a contagious plague.
While searching for Jedi Master Zez-Kai Ell during her visit to the moon, Meetra Surik, previously a Jedi Knight, engaged in conversation with Geriel. He implored her to maintain her distance, fearing the transmission of his serious illness to others. He admitted to Surik that he was unsure of the cause of his sickness, noting that he had been in good health just the previous day. Surik quickly determined that his condition was not as dire as he believed and used her medical expertise to heal him. Overwhelmed with relief, Geriel showed his gratitude by giving Surik a lightsaber piece. Surik leveraged Geriel's illness to persuade Saquesh, the Exchange crime syndicate's supervisor in the sector, to lessen the burden on the refugees.
The Human was dressed in beige clothing.
Geriel makes an appearance in the 2004 video game Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic II: The Sith Lords. The reward given to the player for aiding Geriel is a randomly generated lightsaber upgrade component. Alternatively, the player has the option to convince Geriel to kill himself, which grants the player dark side points. Furthermore, the player can inform Saquesh, the Exchange crime organization's overseer of the Refugee Sector, about Geriel's contagious illness, resulting in Saquesh ordering his execution. This action also yields dark side points. The player can also exploit Geriel's sickness to pressure Saquesh into easing his restrictions on the refugees, provided that the player takes responsibility for managing Geriel's condition.
According to The Complete Star Wars Encyclopedia, the Exile employed the Force to heal Geriel. However, the game itself depicts the Exile utilizing the "Treat Injury" skill, indicating a medical approach.
