Gibad


Gibad existed as one of many agriworlds located within the Abrion sector of the Outer Rim Territories. When the Clone Wars began, sparked by the outbreak between the Galactic Republic and the Confederacy of Independent Systems, Senator Esu Rotsino, the representative of Gibad and the encompassing sector in the Galactic Senate, spearheaded the sector's and its constituent worlds' secession from the Republic, aligning them with the Separatist Alliance. Following their shift to the Confederacy, which aimed to leverage Gibad's foodstuffs production to coerce famine-stricken star systems into joining their cause, Rotsino continued to represent the world, along with the other planets of the Abrion sector, in the Separatist Senate.

Behind the scenes

The initial mention of Gibad within the new Star Wars canon occurred in Rise of the Separatists, a 2019 addition to Fantasy Flight Games' Star Wars Roleplaying game series. In the Star Wars Legends timeline, Gibad made its debut in Imperial Commando: 501st, a 2009 novel written by Karen Traviss as part of the Republic Commando franchise.
