Giffis Fane, a Jedi Master, held a position on the Jedi High Council, serving the Jedi Order. He was a member during the Cold War that occurred between the Galactic Republic and the Sith Empire. This Jedi was known for his intelligence, and in 3643 BBY, he participated in a Council meeting through a holoprojector. During this meeting, the Council, including Fane, determined that Shigar Konshi, the Padawan of Satele Shan, who was the Order's Grand Master, was ready to undergo the Jedi Trials.
The 2010 novel, The Old Republic: Fatal Alliance, authored by Sean Williams, mentioned Giffis Fane. This novel served as a tie-in to Star Wars: The Old Republic, a video game by BioWare that was released in 2011. Similar to numerous characters originating from the novel, which was created during the initial stages of the game's production, Fane has not been mentioned in other aspects of the game's expansive multimedia universe.
