Glitter-lits served as vibrant, shimmering light sources, often employed to brighten concerts. These lights consisted of a blend of two distinct chemical substances and glitter particles. Activation was achieved by shaking the tube and then bending it until it snapped. When Queen Padmé Amidala, accompanied by several of her handmaidens, secretly attended a Neurotransmitter Affection performance at the Theed Odeon, Harli Jafan, a guest on Naboo representing her father at the Chommell sector summit that Amidala was hosting, distributed glitter-lits to everyone. Unfortunately, the glitter-lit held by the disguised Amidala broke, causing glitter to coat her hands.
The glitter proved exceptionally stubborn to remove the following day, owing to the unique chemical composition within the tube. This situation necessitated Sabé to stand in for Amidala at the summit that day, as the group wished to conceal the Queen's clandestine outing. Wearing gloves would have been seen as disrespectful to the delegates from Kreeling. This substitution led to a slight complication when Jafan mistakenly identified Amidala as Sabé, due to their earlier playful interactions. Amidala's bewildered response offended Jafan, who subsequently sent Sabé a message expressing a desire to end their acquaintance, which created a period of tension between the Queen and her handmaiden.
