Kreeling

Kreeling was a planetary body, a planet, situated within the Chommell sector of the Mid Rim. This world was dedicated to mining operations and was home to a multitude of refineries. The individual who oversaw these refineries essentially held authority over the entire planet. The atmosphere of Kreeling was breathable by its human inhabitants, yet it permanently impacted their eyesight. Among the Kreelingi, wearing gloves in social settings was seen as discourteous.

In the year 32 BBY, the woman who managed the refineries was invited to the Chommell sector summit on Naboo, which was being hosted by the newly elected Queen Padmé Amidala. Instead of attending herself, she dispatched her son, Tobruna, as her representative. Despite suspecting an intentional slight, Amidala was not offended, as she found communication with younger individuals closer to her own age to be more straightforward. During the negotiations, Tobruna pointed out that Kreeling was obligated to provide their finest ores to Naboo for the planet's artisans to use in decorating musical instruments. Amidala conceded to eliminate this obligation, hoping to increase the popularity of less ostentatious instruments. Later in the summit, Kreeling's aversion to gloves played a role when Amidala's handmaiden Sabé had to impersonate her after Amidala left to attend a concert and accidentally spilled glitter-lit on her hands, which proved difficult to remove.

Behind the scenes

The first canonically reference to Kreeling occurred in E. K. Johnston's 2020 novel, Queen's Peril.
