Gordon

Gordon, an unpleasant starport situated on the planetary surface of either Aquilae or Utapau, existed within a desolate environment and housed a local cantina. Nearby, one could find the remnants of a dilapidated temple.

It was at Gordon that Kane Starkiller enlisted Han Solo to join the rebellion against the New Galactic Empire.

While en route to Gordon with a Covina cargo, Captain Oxus's crew suffered a setback when Han Solo commandeered their pirate ship.

Behind the scenes

The initial treatment summary and early screenplay version of what later evolved into A New Hope featured Gordon. This location was later reimagined as Mos Eisley in the subsequent screenplay draft. The fleeting reference to Gordon in that specific draft alludes to its potential existence as a distinct, yet unportrayed, settlement on Utapau.
