Gorssk was a Trandoshan male who was employed at Rothe Gate, which served as a weapons storage asteroid for the criminal Organization. He was considered to be an underperformer, a common perception of Trandoshans working at Rothe Gate. His living quarters were situated directly opposite those of either Cyria Dombasle, Marten Haal, Plu Markeela, or Gal O'Wei.
Gorssk became a member of a segment within the Organization known as The Cell, with the goal of removing the Organization's leader, Nirama, from power and reinstating slavery within the Cularin system. Nala Noos, a former security head also of the Trandoshan species and loyal to Nirama, had suspicions regarding Gorssk's true allegiance.
In the year 32 BBY, after completing a double work shift, he proceeded to his living cube. Near Gorssk's cube were several agents of Nirama, who had previously disrupted attempts by The Cell. The details regarding Gorssk's interaction, or lack thereof, with these agents remain uncertain. Regardless, their presence was connected to a larger plan orchestrated by The Cell, a plan of which Gorssk was unaware.
