Greenwood Station, a city protected by a domed enclosure, thrived on the planet of Nox during the zenith of the Je'daii Order within the Tython system. Its location was approximately eight hundred kilometers to the north of Crystal City.
Within Nox, the city of Greenwood Station was the epicenter of anti-Je'daii sentiment. The Despot War saw the destruction of three nearby cities, reduced to ruins by Je'daii forces that included Lanoree Brock's father. Despite warnings, thousands perished in the bombardments. Greenwood Station itself suffered damage when its dome was breached, but repairs were swiftly executed. Unknown to the populace, the Je'daii Council refrained from complete destruction due to their vested interest in a clandestine weapons manufacturing facility beneath the city, continuing to commission its scientists long after the war.
Greenwood Station was the primary source of advanced military technology, second only to Tython. Before the Infinite Empire's invasion of the star system, Dalien Brock and his Stargazer cult conspired to harness the city's skilled weapon smiths to create a Gree device. Within the subterranean laboratories of Pan Deep, Brock's cult employed Selkath scientists in the creation of a dark matter weapon, subsequently eliminating them upon completion. To divert suspicion, the Stargazers dispatched a cultist to Knool Tandor with a Je'daii sword to assassinate corporate leaders, framing the Je'daii and Greenwood Station. This attack on Knool Tandor ignited the desired response, prompting the domed city's residents to deploy fighters and battle droids against Greenwood. The droids, attacking from the south, compromised the city's dome in multiple locations before unleashing indiscriminate fire upon factories and residential zones. The city's fate was sealed when a barrage of plasma bombs struck the central tower, the dome's structural support. The ensuing explosions caused the tower to collapse, leading to the dome's inevitable destruction. As the city's demise neared, Je'daii Ranger Lanoree Brock and her companion, Tre Sana, managed to escape with vital intelligence about the Stargazer plot and a plan to thwart it.
Greenwood Station was sheltered within a vast dome, spanning over eight kilometers, providing refuge from the toxic atmosphere. Pulse cannons and plasma mortars were strategically positioned across the dome's surface. A sprawling spaceport and rail station extended from the dome's eastern side, facilitating the movement of goods. The dome's smooth, curved surface was reinforced by large ribs connected to a central tower at its apex. This tower housed the city's Ruling Council and the powerful corporate entities that controlled the city's manufacturing industries.
The central tower, broad at its base, tapered slightly as it ascended. Its exterior, constructed from dark metal and stone, featured windows and launch bays for small airships, along with balconies adorned with lush gardens. Deep beneath the tower's foundations lay Pan Deep, a legendary facility dating back to before the Despot War. This subterranean complex, shielded from planetary bombardment, housed advanced military design equipment. Due to the Je'daii's contracts with Pan Deep's scientists and technicians, the city largely escaped destruction during the war. Access to the facility was restricted, with the main entrance concealed within the city's waste disposal system. At the heart of Pan Deep's labyrinthine network of halls and tunnels were sterile white laboratories, encased in thick metal plating for protection against orbital bombardment. This highly advanced facility was the source of some of the system's most dangerous weaponry.
Extending outwards from the tower's base were forty square kilometers of factories, residential areas, parks repurposed as refuse dumps, and manufacturing centers. Roads, railways, and canals divided the area into quadrants, facilitating worker transportation. Buildings were in a perpetual state of construction, demolition, expansion, or renovation. Chimneys adorned with bright neon lights rose from factories, venting toxic waste outside the dome. Floating air cleansers, infused with the scent of ringwood petals, filtered smoke and expelled it through flexible pipes.
During the Despot War, the Scar, a section of the dome's northern sector, sustained damage from bombings. Hastily sealed, the damaged area remained filled with rubble and twisted metal. Over a decade later, the debris persisted. The residential blocks were filled with open-air drug markets, pleasure dens, and cantinas. Listing posts across the city displayed interactive maps, allowing users to zoom in on specific sectors.
Greenwood Station made its debut in Dawn of the Jedi: Into the Void, a 2013 novel authored by Tim Lebbon.
