Before and during the Jedi Civil War, Tatooine's Anchorhead was home to Rodian Greeta Holda. She was an employee of the Czerka Corporation, where she was in charge of selling standard provisions and supplies at the general store in the settlement. She didn't like Czerka and had a negative opinion of their business practices, despite working for them. In 3956 BBY, Revan, the amnesiac ex-Dark Lord, arrived in Anchorhead seeking information about the location of the Star Forge. Holda sold him a set of moisture vaporators as part of a peace deal to establish a truce with a local Sand People tribe, which he needed to get information to continue his quest. After rescuing Griff Vao, Mission Vao's older brother and a con artist, from the same native tribe, Holda employed the Twi'lek in her warehouse. Vao, however, left the planet after failing to mass-synthesize Tarisian ale for the Exchange; Holda was happy to see him leave.
The Rodian Greeta Holda, along with her employers at the Czerka Corporation, established a shop in the Outer Rim desert world of Tatooine's outpost of Anchorhead some time before the Jedi Civil War began. Their goal was to exploit the planet's mineral wealth potential. Unfortunately for Czerka, the prospects turned out to be dismal because Tatooinian ore had unusual properties that made the metal practically worthless. Holda, as the manager of the supply store at the outpost, continued to conduct business by selling basic gear and supplies to locals, spacers, and Czerka employees.
During the height of the Jedi Civil War, Revan, the amnesiac former Dark Lord of the Sith, arrived on Tatooine in search of the world's hidden Rakatan Star Map in order to locate the Star Forge. Revan and his party entered Holda's general store, which also served as the corporation's local branch office, to obtain a hunting license in the hopes of exploring the desert wastes beyond Anchorhead's walls, the only settlement there. Although the protocol officer on duty was hesitant to sell a license because she thought there were "too many people cavorting about the dunes already," she agreed to give one to Revan if he would help the company deal with a particularly troublesome Sand People tribe. After agreeing to the deal, Revan left, but soon returned to the general store in search of a set of moisture vaporators in order to broker a truce with the tribe and put an end to their attacks on Czerka's mining operations. At the same time, the Jedi had secured the release of Griff Vao, a Twi'lek con artist and the older sibling of one of his companions, Mission, who had an agreement that allowed him to work for Holda if he ever got tired of working in the mines.
Griff took a job with Holda after being saved. He then informed Revan of a business opportunity: a contact from the Exchange, a well-known intergalactic criminal organization, claimed to be able to synthesize Tarisian ale. Griff, however, required the gland of a tach, a species of primate, in order to brew a batch of the beverage, as when refined into a powder, it produced the ale's distinctive "kick." Griff promised to pay Revan handsomely if the Jedi provided a gland; however, because of the destruction of Taris, tach could only be found on Kashyyyk, the Wookiee homeworld. Revan agreed to do this, bringing the organ to Griff for processing into the potent intoxicant, though Mission had misgivings about her brother's ability to actually brew the ale. However, something went wrong during the brewing process, ruining the sample; Griff fled the planet after being unable to keep his end of the bargain with the Exchange operative. Holda informed Revan and the party of what had happened when Revan stopped by her store again, and she passed on a message for his sister stating that Griff was sorry. Holda, on the other hand, was not at all sorry to see Griff leave, declaring that the elder Vao was the worst employee she had ever had; Holda even suspected the Twi'lek of stealing from her, though she couldn't prove it.
Holda was a pragmatic Rodian and a skilled businessman who didn't care much about events that didn't affect her or her business. When asked about the Sith bombing of Taris, she didn't have much to say. She did, however, have morals and disliked the Czerka Corporation despite being affiliated with the company that owned and supplied the goods for the store she ran. As a result, she readily agreed to assist Revan when he sought a peaceful resolution to the Sand People problem, praising the Jedi for his desire to appease them rather than resorting to violence, stating that it was precisely what Czerka would not have wanted.
Greeta Holda is just one of the many supporting characters created by the BioWare developers for Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic. While speaking with her is not required to finish the game, it is required to complete the canonical light side storyline.
Greeta mentions that she does not sell swoop bike upgrade parts if the player interacts with her after participating in swoop racing at the track owned by Motta the Hutt. This and other similar instances in the game suggest that the developers intended to include a system for purchasing swoop upgrades and installing them on a bike to improve performance. One such swoop bike was left aboard the Ebon Hawk, the party's starship, after it was stolen from Tarisian crime lord Davik Kang. However, this was either removed from the final version of the game or was never actually implemented.
