Grist held the position of Prime Minister and was a female Ikkrukkian. She dispatched a distress call when the First Order launched an attack on Ikkrukk, which was further complicated by Ikkrukk First Order sympathizers within the planet; she hoped the Resistance would notice. The Resistance's Black Squadron, who were already planning a trip to Ikkrukk to find new allies, intercepted Grist's message. They got in touch with her, assuring her of their assistance in repelling the assault. Black Squadron divided their forces; some landed in the city and were separated from Grist, while others remained in the air. Ultimately, Black Three, Jessika Pava, joined up with Grist's loyal troops, re-enabled the defense grid, annihilated the Fortitude, and brought the attack to an end. Grist promised her support to the Resistance and offered Black Squadron drinks. Despite this, she later chose not to assist them, which frustrated Dameron.
Grist, being an Ikkrukkian, possessed white skin, eyes that were yellow, and brown hair. She also adorned her face with jewelry.
The first appearance of Grist was in Poe Dameron 30, a comic penned by Charles Soule, with illustrations by Angel Unzueta, which was released on August 15, 2018.
