Gurtyl was a qaberworm of the female persuasion, and the cherished companion of Vulaada Klam. When Klam and her kin were cast into the undercity beneath Milvayne, Gurtyl was instrumental in Klam's survival as she fended for herself. Chelli Aphra and the droid 0-0-0 had a chance encounter with Gurtyl and Klam, who sought to claim the assassin droid for its valuable parts. After persuading Klam against selling Triple-Zero, Aphra and 0-0-0 secured passage across Milvayne City atop Gurtyl. Unfortunately, Tam Posla, now controlled by Force-tainted gundravian hookspores, had pursued 0-0-0 and Aphra, unleashing blaster fire upon them.
