Harvos

Harvos, originating from the village of Rokrul on the planet Nelvaan in the Outer Rim Territories, was a male Nelvaanian scout. During the Clone Wars, which pitted the Galactic Republic against the Confederacy of Independent Systems, the Techno Union, an ally of the Confederacy, erected a laboratory on Nelvaan. This laboratory siphoned geothermal energy from the planet, resulting in a never-ending winter. Harvos was dispatched to determine the cause of the sudden climate change, but the Techno Union captured him and transformed him into a super soldier for their own purposes. During his transformation, he was liberated by Jedi Knight Anakin Skywalker, and subsequently aided in the destruction of the Techno Union's base.

Biography

Harvos, the warrior

Mutant Harvos with Anakin Skywalker

On the Outer Rim Territories planet of Nelvaan, in the village of Rokrul, lived Harvos, a male Nelvaanian warrior. During the period of the Clone Wars, a conflict between the Galactic Republic and the Confederacy of Independent Systems, the Confederacy-aligned Techno Union established a laboratory on Nelvaan. This laboratory was responsible for draining the planet's geothermal energy. Harvos, along with all male warriors of Rokrul, was tasked with investigating the cause of the planet's perpetual winter, as the shaman Orvos interpreted the change as an affliction upon their Great Mother deity.

Captured by the Techno Union

Battle droids apprehended Harvos, taking him to the Techno Union laboratory. There, Skakoan scientists subjected him to genetic modifications and implanted technological devices within his body. He was submerged in a tank filled with 3L41UH7 mutagenic serum, causing his body to enlarge significantly, altering his appearance drastically. While he was undergoing this transformation, Jedi Knight Anakin Skywalker infiltrated the base. The Jedi freed Harvos and his fellow warriors; however, the men initially attacked Skywalker due to mind control devices within them. After he and Skywalker destroyed the devices, Harvos reminded his comrades and brothers that anyone who helped free them could not be their enemy. Subsequently, the warriors redirected their rage toward their Skakoan captors, assisting Skywalker in destroying the base. Harvos also guided Skywalker to the central battery of the base, where he destroyed the crystal powering it.

The warriors return home.

Following the destruction of the base, Harvos and the other males returned to Rokrul village with Skywalker. Despite initial hesitation and shock from the women due to their mutated appearances, a child (likely Harvos's child) approached the men without fear, prompting a swift change of heart in the women, who embraced their returned loved ones. The village then celebrated their return with a bonfire and dancing.

Personality and traits

Even in his mutated state, Harvos maintained composure and reason, successfully persuading his fellow warriors to redirect their anger from their liberator to their captors. He emphasized their shared Nelvaanian identity and the principle that anyone aiding them could not be considered an enemy. Like other Nelvaanians, he possessed gray-blue skin, black [hair](/article/hair-legends], and [eyes](/article/eye-legends], along with black tattoos on his upper torso. Before his mutation, he had a small body, but the alterations caused his body to grow immensely, his head to partially bald, his front teeth to protrude from his mouth, and his tattoos to fade.

Behind the scenes

Harvos debuted in Chapter 24 of the Star Wars: Clone Wars animated microseries, broadcast on Cartoon Network on March 24, 2005. Richard McGonagle provided the character's voice. His name was first revealed in the "Nelvaanian" Databank entry on StarWars.com.
