Herdringer, a lieutenant within the Galactic Empire's Imperial Security Bureau, was a male who served during the initial years of its reign. While positioned on the planet Lothal, he met his death at the hands of another lieutenant, Jenkes, who caused him to be struck by a speeder bus. Following Herdringer's demise by three months, Jenkes impersonated the deceased lieutenant while interacting with the bounty hunter Bossk; however, Bossk eventually learned of Herdringer's death and manipulated Jenkes into confessing to the murder.
The character of Herdringer was initially referenced within Ezra's Gamble, a children's book authored by Ryder Windham and published in 2014.
