Hynah

Hynah, a manufacturing-focused world, could be found in the Kalamith sector, which itself resided in the Outer Rim Territories. This planet was positioned along the Hydian Way hyperlane. The Hynese, a diverse group of species, called this planet home. Before the Rebel Alliance had to evacuate their base from the Yavin system, Rebel scouts mapped a hyperlane that would allow them to escape from the Feswe Corridor star system to Hynah.

Description

Within the Hynah system, which is located in the Kalamith sector of the Outer Rim Territories, was the terrestrial world known as Hynah. It sat on the Hydian Way super-hyperroute between the Simpla and Sorrus systems, effectively marking the boundary between the New Territories and the Trans-Hydian regions.

History

As the Rebel Alliance geared up for the coming evacuation of their base in the Yavin system after the Battle of Yavin, Rebel scouts charted several emergency hyperspace escape routes from the Feswe Corridor star system. One of these routes led to Hynah by way of the Feswe Prime system.

Inhabitants

Hynah, a vibrant industrial world, was populated by the Hynese, an enterprising and diverse group comprised of various species. The Hynese had a presence in the neighboring Gordian Reach sector, where their interests were represented in the agricultural Jovan system. Furthermore, Hynese companies held a dominant position on both the mining planet Selitan and the industrial world Krylon. Jokes about the perceived backwardness of the Gordian Reach inhabitants were a common occurrence on Hynah.

Behind the scenes

The Essential Atlas, a reference book from 2009 written by Daniel Wallace and Jason Fry, introduced Hynah. While the book's map of the Gordian Reach placed Hynah in grid square O-5, both the Appendix and the StarWars.com Online Companion for the book mistakenly located the Hynah system in grid square P-5.
