IG-1000 was a starfighter variation of the TIE line, and it was piloted by the assassin droid IG-88.

The IG-1000 represented a modified version of the TIE fighter. It was equipped with a pair of laser cannons that discharged red-colored laser blasts. In contrast to the standard TIE-series fighters and transports, the ship featured a square cockpit design with open, angular windows. The solar panels integrated the cannons, a design element reminiscent of the panels found on the TIE/IN interceptor. This vessel possessed a single thruster, emitting a yellow-colored light, which differed from the typical colorless exhaust observed on most TIE models.
The bounty hunter droid utilized the IG-1000 during the year 15 BBY. IG-88 piloted the starfighter while undertaking an assignment from Ko Zatec-Cha that involved retrieving Mon Julpa in addition to the Tammuz-an royal scepter. To successfully capture Julpa and the scepter, IG-88 was responsible for saving the lives of Julpa, his assistant Sollag Den, Jessica Meade, Jann Tosh, R2-D2 and C-3PO. When Gir Kybo Ren-Cha launched an assault on their ship, the droid engaged Ren-Cha's attack ship, known as the Dianoga, ultimately driving off the pirates.
On a TheForce.net forum thread dedicated to The Droids Re-Animated, the author Abel G. Peña (using the nickname "Halagad_Ventor") hinted at a possible connection between the original TIE Series model from which the IG-1000 was derived and the Sith interceptor of the earlier Sith Empire.
