The second lightsaber that Imri Cantaros, the Jedi Padawan, used was a blue lightsaber. This weapon was unique in that it featured a physical crossguard built into its hilt. Cantaros' initial lightsaber (his first one) met its end on the moon of Wevo. Jedi Knight Vernestra Rwoh destroyed it following a skirmish with Nihil pirates, an event that almost led the Padawan down the path to the dark side of the Force. Subsequently, Avon Starros, an ambitious scientist, pilfered the remnants of the destroyed lightsaber, intending to scrutinize its kyber crystal. A series of emergencies forced Cantaros to rely on a borrowed lightsaber for several months since he lacked the time to obtain a new kyber crystal and construct a replacement. Finally, in the wake of the attack on Valo, he managed to embark on the necessary pilgrimage and finish crafting his new weapon. Marshal Avar Kriss' lightsaber served as his inspiration for incorporating a physical crossguard into the hilt of his new lightsaber.
