Imthitill

Imthitill, a city constructed on an atoll, could be found on the planet of Ando, a world of legends. The city was characterized by its cylindrical white towers and served as a residence for the Aqualish species. In the year 26 ABY, the Jedi Knight known as Dorsk 82 met his death just outside Imthitill. This occurred as he attempted to rescue droids from destruction at the hands of the atoll-city's inhabitants, who sought to appease the invading Yuuzhan Vong.

Description

On the Mid Rim planet Ando, the Aqualish species' homeworld, Imthitill was a city built upon a large atoll within one of the salt-water oceans. Notable features of the city included cylindrical white towers adorned with lights. Furthermore, a stone causeway, already ancient by 26 ABY, connected Imthitill to a long-abandoned fishing platform. Additional fishing platforms were seen floating in the waters surrounding the atoll-city.

History

The Yuuzhan Vong, hailing from an extra-galactic region, initiated an invasion of the galaxy in 25 ABY. Their goal was to overthrow the New Republic government and advance towards the Core Worlds. By 26 ABY, the Yuuzhan Vong reached Ando in the Mid Rim, prompting the inhabitants to destroy droids in an attempt to appease the invaders, who viewed such mechanical beings as abominations. In Imthitill, a widespread fire was used to exterminate droids throughout the city. However, the Jedi Knight Dorsk 82 successfully gathered thirty-eight droids and transported them to his starship on the abandoned fishing platform, intending to evacuate them off-world. Despite being pursued by a mob of Aqualish determined to destroy the droids, Dorsk 82's efforts were thwarted when eight security officers destroyed his starship before takeoff and proceeded to kill the Jedi on the causeway, resulting in his death.

Inhabitants

Imthitill was populated by at least fifty members of the Aqualish species, including at least one individual employed on a tug. Furthermore, droids were present within Imthitill until the purge that occurred in 26 ABY. The city also featured security officers who wore yellow body armor.

Behind the scenes

Imthitill's debut appearance was in Greg Keyes' Edge of Victory I: Conquest, a 2001 addition to The New Jedi Order series.
