Invasion of Moralan

During the conflict between the Hutt species and Daritha, the self-proclaimed Tionese warlord Xim, the invasion of Moralan saw the Hutts retake the planet Moralan after its native Moralan inhabitants threw off the yoke of Hutt slavery. Boonta Hestilic Shad'ruu commanded the victorious Hutt forces, and as a consequence of the rebellion, the Moralan's homeworld was rendered uninhabitable, ultimately causing the extinction of the indigenous population.

Prelude

In the period spanning 25,102 BBY to 25,096 BBY, amid the conflict between the Hutt Empire of Hutt Space and the Tionese, forces from the Tion Hegemony under the self-styled Daritha—an ancient title of the Rakata species signifying emperorXim, entered the Moralan system. While present in the system, they incited the indigenous Moralan people, inhabitants of the planet Moralan, to liberate themselves from Hutt slavery. The Moralan subsequently established a republic governed by the Parliament of Moralan. Following the Second Battle of Vontor, where Xim's armies were defeated by the Hutts on Vontor, the Tionese withdrew from the Moralan system, abandoning the Moralan to face their former enslavers.

The battle

With the Tionese no longer present, the Hutts, under the leadership of Boonta Hestilic Shad'ruu, returned to the Moralan system. Over three days, the Hutt forces engaged the forces of the Parliament of Moralan during the invasion of Moralan, ultimately securing victory over the Moralan.

Aftermath

As retribution for the natives' uprising, the Moralan homeworld was sterilized, leading to the extinction of the species. Boonta was subsequently placed in command of the Hutt forces against Xim at the Third Battle of Vontor, partly due to his triumph on Moralan, where he decisively defeated Xim, resulting in the despot's capture by the Hutts. Boonta's victory against the Moralan was later commemorated with a three-day festival named in his honor—Boonta's Eve, mirroring the duration of the battle.

Behind the scenes

The invasion of Moralan was initially referenced in an article by Rich Handley and Abel G. Peña concerning the Star Wars: Droids animated series in issue 170th of the Polyhedron roleplaying magazine, which was released in June of 2004.
