Inverted Path

The Path of Contradictions, also known as the Inverted Path, represented a possible interpretation of the Shani phrase Jozanna Tock Na Du. This term designated a hyperspace Path rumored to extend beyond the boundaries of Wild Space. Deva Lompop was familiar with Shani myths that described the Path's terminus as a perilous, illogical location, defying the conventions of the galaxy, yet abundant in treasure. Survivors of an expedition to this Path recounted encounters with voracious beasts and unusual plants.

Mari San Tekka bestowed the Path upon Jedi Knight Vernestra Rwoh onboard the Nihil Gravity's Heart space station just before her death. Rwoh, uncertain about the origin of her bond with San Tekka, perceived the Path mentally, understanding it led to a region past the edge of the galaxy untouched for a considerable time. The Jedi Knight kept experiencing visions from San Tekka concerning the Path. Although Rwoh could record or input the coordinates into a navicomputer, she found herself unable to speak them, as if her brain was preventing access to the data. On the planet Takodana, Rwoh sketched the coordinates in the soil for Lompop. Despite a sudden wind that quickly obscured the markings, the Shani recognized them, sharing the legends she knew with the Jedi Knight.
