A communications jammer, also referred to as a jammer or signal jammer, was a type of technology that could disrupt communications transmissions.
During his service in the Galactic Republic's Senate, Bail Organa sometimes utilized a signal jammer. This device was worn on his belt and hidden by the folds of his cape.
A signal jammer was in the possession of Gall Trayvis, an Imperial Senate Senator living in exile. He employed this device to briefly interrupt Imperial transmissions. Although the Empire quickly detected and blocked his intrusions, Trayvis would seize control of the feed to broadcast his own messages before they could react. Sabine Wren described these broadcasts in her personal journal as "a concentrated dose of the TRUTH," but Trayvis's messages were actually a deceptive tactic to lure rebels into ambushes.
