Gall Trayvis, a human male, was a political figure who represented Osk-Trill within the Imperial Senate during the Galactic Empire's rule. He abandoned his position in the Imperial Senate to feign being a dissenting Senator, openly critical of the Imperial government, with the intention of drawing rebel factions into traps.
Born sometime between 73 and 64 BBY, Gall Trayvis became a senator in the Imperial Senate subsequent to the ascension of the Galactic Empire. Hera Syndulla, a rebel pilot, stated that Trayvis was the sole Imperial Senator who publicly condemned the Galactic Empire. The truth was that Trayvis remained a secret Imperial operative, merely acting as a dissenting and exiled politician. This facade allowed him to earn the trust of rebel groups and guide them toward their demise. This senator's true allegiance was a secret he guarded even from his own droids. Trayvis also knew Mira and Ephraim Bridger, a married pair who had transmitted anti-Empire messages regarding its actions on the planet Lothal until they were apprehended.

Five years prior to the Battle of Yavin, Trayvis disseminated a message through a compromised HoloNet News broadcast, claiming that Jedi Master Luminara Unduli had survived the Clone Wars and was being held prisoner on Stygeon Prime. The rebels launched a rescue mission, only to discover that Unduli was deceased and that it was a trap set by the Grand Inquisitor. He later interrupted Kastle's report on the death of Master Unduli, urging citizens not to believe the Empire's version of events and to honor her memory, though his true allegiance meant this message was deceptive.
Shortly thereafter, Trayvis issued another broadcast, this time on the fifteenth anniversary of the Empire's establishment. Trayvis' message, displayed in locations like Old Jho's Pit Stop on Lothal, called upon Imperial citizens to abstain from Empire Day celebrations as a protest against what Trayvis denounced as the Imperial regime's injustices. Considering his loyalties, this message was also likely a deception, potentially intended to expose and arrest anti-Empire protestors.
Following the Empire Day events, he transmitted a message with the intention of luring the Lothal rebels to the Lothal City Capitol Building on Lothal. In reality, Agent Kallus of the Imperial Security Bureau and Minister Maketh Tua were organizing a secret operation to capture the Lothal rebels. The Lothal rebels located Senator Trayvis within the building but were quickly ambushed by stormtroopers. While Trayvis attempted to persuade the rebels to surrender, they managed to escape after Sabine Wren and Garazeb Orrelios deployed smoke bombs from the rafters. Travyis and his would-be rescuers then escaped into the old sewers under Lothal's Capital City. During the escape, Trayvis pretended to be exhausted to give the pursuing stormtroopers more time. They eventually separated, and the senator was accompanied by Captain Hera Syndulla and the Jedi Padawan Ezra Bridger, who was the son of Mira and Ephraim Bridger.
Upon reaching a large fan generator, Hera, suspecting Travyis' betrayal, handed him her blaster. Travyis seized this opportunity to reveal his true allegiance and attempted to capture them. Travyis informed Hera and Ezra that he was actually assisting the Empire in locating and hunting down rebels. He also revealed his knowledge of Ezra's parents and claimed responsibility for their deaths, mocking the Bridgers for foolishly sacrificing their lives for freedom instead of submission. As he tried to kill them, he discovered that Hera's blaster was unloaded, as she had suspected his true loyalties based on his recent actions. Hera then punched him, rendering him unconscious. When Trayvis regained consciousness, the rebels had escaped, with Bridger giving him a final furious look, while Kallus looked at him with disgust.
After the failed Imperial operation, Trayvis was interviewed by HoloNet News anchor Alton Kastle. During the interview, Trayvis affirmed that he had "recommitted" to the Empire and stated his desire to improve the Empire through peaceful means. He also used the opportunity to condemn the Lothal rebels, labeling them insurgents, for distorting his message into something violent and frightening. At the conclusion of the broadcast, Travyis announced a reward for their capture. Travyis' broadcast led the Lothal rebels to hijack the Imperial Communications Center at Jalath in order to broadcast their own message to the people of Lothal.
After the Spectres saved Senator Nadea Tural, Ezra Bridger brought up Gall Trayvis to prove his point about not rushing to trust Imperial Senators.
Some time after the end of the Galactic Civil War, the New Republic prosecuted Trayvis, presenting evidence of his involvement in the imprisonment and death of hundreds of individuals across the galaxy.
Gall Trayvis was a human male characterized by fair skin and [blue](/article/color] eyes. Five years prior to the Battle of Yavin, he appeared as an older man with dark hair that was beginning to gray. He presented himself as a dissenting Senator who despised the Empire and its authoritarian practices, and one who supported all rebellious actions. However, in truth, he remained loyal to the Empire and secretly reveled in the terrible fates that befell rebels due to his actions. Upon meeting Ezra Bridger and realizing he was the son of the "original voices of freedom," Mira and Ephraim Bridger, he mocked his parents' dissidence and cruelly revealed his involvement in their disappearance, although Trayvis did acknowledge the Bridgers' bravery. He was also a coward, exhibiting an arrogant and confident demeanor when he held the rebels at gunpoint, which transformed into sniveling weakness when he was disarmed.

Gall Trayvis's voice was first heard over the HoloNet in "Rise of the Old Masters," the fifth episode of the first season of the animated television series Star Wars Rebels. Brent Spiner, known for his role as Lieutenant Commander Data in Star Trek: The Next Generation, provided his voice.
Originally, Trayvis was intended to appear in Claudia Gray's novel Leia, Princess of Alderaan, where his homeworld would have been identified as Osk-Trill. However, in the final version of the book, he was replaced by Cinderon Malpe from Derella. The book Star Wars: The Rise and Fall of the Galactic Empire later confirmed that Trayvis's homeworld was indeed Osk-Trill.
