Osk-Trill designated a specific astronomical entity, its name derived from a pair of characters within the Aurebesh writing system. This celestial object served as the homeworld of the human Senator Gall Trayvis, who held its representation in the Senate under the authority of the Galactic Empire. By the year 5 BBY, Trayvis relinquished his senatorial duties to collaborate with the Imperial Security Bureau, aiming to expose rebel factions for imperial apprehension.
During 35 ABY, Beaumont Kin, a historian, authored and released a book entitled The Rise and Fall of the Galactic Empire, which chronicled the ascent and decline of the Empire. In the third chapter of the book, entitled "The Imperial Senate," Kin referenced Trayvis and his senatorial representation of Osk-Trill.
The initial appearance of Osk-Trill occurred within a segment of the 2017 novel Leia, Princess of Alderaan, penned by Claudia Gray. This excerpt was included in paperback editions of the 2015 novel Lost Stars, which Gray also authored. However, in the finalized version of the Leia, Princess of Alderaan novel, references to Trayvis and Osk-Trill were substituted with Senator Cinderon Malpe from the celestial entity Derella. Osk-Trill received a subsequent mention in the 2024 in-universe reference publication, Star Wars: The Rise and Fall of the Galactic Empire, by Dr. Chris Kempshall.
