The Jaraana irstat represented a Tarasin tribe. They existed on the planet of Cularin in the time period of the Clone Wars.
This irstat was governed by Irstat-Kes Mir'Liss, the second oldest female in the group. Mother Morad'Ka, the tribe's most senior female member, functioned as its spiritual guide. During the Clone Wars, the Dark Jedi known as Raik Muun journeyed to the irstat's village. Muun's goal was to convince Morad'Ka to assist her in freeing a dangerous creature held captive below Cloud Mountain. Morad'Ka declined, and the following day, Muun departed and set the village ablaze. Fortunately, the Heroes of Cularin intervened and helped extinguish the fire.
Soon after this event, the Jedi from the Almas Academy asked the irstat for authorization to research the t'salak, the creature that Muun had been seeking. Morad'Ka consented and dispatched a communication to Nek Lawsirk, a Zabrak Jedi Knight, informing him that he was permitted to retrieve the creature. However, Lawsirk was under Muun's capture, so she disguised herself as him. She then traveled to the Jaraana irstat's village, with the intention of claiming the creature for herself.
