Nek Lawsirk was a Zabrak male and a Jedi Knight, both designations found within Legends materials. He was a member of the Jedi Order, serving the Galactic Republic during the Clone Wars period.
Nek Lawsirk, a Zabrak who was Force-sensitive, underwent training in the ways of the Force at the Jedi Order's academy located on Almas, which is within the Cularin system. While an Initiate there, Lawsirk formed a close bond with Kirlocca, who held the title of Master of Lightsabers and served as one of his instructors. Kirlocca would later expel Raik Muun, another Initiate and a peer of Lawsirk's, for transgressing the Order's prohibitions against attachments. Muun had, in fact, propositioned Lawsirk, who rejected her advances, which ultimately led to her expulsion.
After successfully completing his Trials of Knighthood, Lawsirk achieved the rank of Jedi Knight and graduated from the Academy. He chose to remain in the system, taking up residence in an apartment situated in the city of Hedrett on Cularin, where he dedicated himself to assisting the city's inhabitants in any way possible. During his time there, Lawsirk found entertainment in renting Jedi Action holovids from Hedrett Holovid, a local establishment specializing in holovid rentals.
Lawsirk began an investigation into reports of alleged Jedi corruption and extortion, but he was unable to determine the source of the rumors. Around this time, Kirlocca also requested that he attempt to negotiate with the Tarasin in order to persuade them to allow the Jedi to study a dangerous creature in their possession, known as the t'salak. Using a false identity, Raik Muun made contact with Lawsirk, claiming to possess information regarding the attacks attributed to the Jedi. He journeyed to Tilnes to meet with her, but she instead attacked and imprisoned him there. She then assumed his identity and launched an assault on the patrons of a cantina called The Chasm in an effort to damage the Jedi's reputation. Morad'Ka, a leader among the Tarasin, attempted to reach Lawsirk to inform him that he could retrieve the t'salak. Muun intercepted this message and, disguised as Lawsirk, proceeded to collect the creature herself.
Muun conducted experiments on the t'salak and allowed it to make contact with Lawsirk, which caused him to enter a state of murderous, uncontrollable rage. Master Kirlocca dispatched the Heroes of Cularin to locate Lawsirk, and they tracked him to Tilnes, where he attacked them. They managed to subdue the tortured Zabrak and escorted him back to Almas, where Master Kirlocca provided him with medical attention.
