Jay Igno was a male Nimbanel, identified as such by his gender, who made a living as an air taxi pilot on the planet of Coruscant during the era of the Clone Wars.
Before the Clone Wars even began, Jay Igno came into this world and eventually relocated to Coruscant, where he took up his profession as a taxi driver. Over the course of his career, he both witnessed and overheard many bizarre occurrences.
In 19 BBY, he provided transportation to the renegade clone trooper known as Fives, taking him to the establishment called 79's after the trooper uncovered a conspiracy that involved Sheev Palpatine. During the ride, Igno attempted to engage Fives in conversation, expressing his surprise that clones could enjoy themselves, to which the clone responded that there was much he didn't know about them. Igno then mentioned his fondness for a good mystery, but Fives quickly questioned whether he was aware of the mystery surrounding the clone troopers being secretly programmed to assassinate their Jedi commanders without their knowledge. Igno simply chuckled and dismissed it as just another outlandish story he'd heard.
Upon reaching their destination, Fives exited the air taxi, prompting Igno to inquire about payment. Fives instructed Igno to "bill it to the Republic", as some intoxicated clones outside of the bar cheered him on. Igno then hurled insults at the clones and sped away, while the drunk clones retaliated by throwing bottles at his taxi.
Jay Igno was a Nimbanel male characterized by purple eyes and light brown and brown skin. He also sported a brown and tan mustache and typically wore a green flat cap. He possessed a relaxed and easygoing demeanor, often engaging in playful teasing or flirting with his passengers.
Jay Igno made his debut appearance in the fourth episode of Star Wars: The Clone Wars's sixth season, titled Orders, which was broadcast in 2014. His voice was provided by Stephen Stanton. Igno's name serves as an allusion to Reverend Jim Ignatowski, a character portrayed by Christopher Lloyd in the television sitcom Taxi.
