Jedi Credits, also known as Jedi Medallions, or Jedcreds, functioned as commemorative tokens exclusive to the Corellian Jedi of the Old Republic era. These tokens served as awards presented upon a Jedi Knight's promotion to the rank of Jedi Master. Typically, they were bestowed upon the newly appointed Master's previous mentor, in addition to approximately a dozen of their intimate companions, relatives, and pupils.
Upon his ascension to the rank of Jedi Knight, the Jedi named Thame Cerulian received a Jedi Credit, which he then placed within his personal edition of The Jedi Path, a Jedi training guide, for safekeeping purposes.
Corran Horn received a Jedi Credit from his father, Valin Horn, which had originally belonged to his grandfather, Nejaa Halcyon, whose likeness was featured upon it. Initially ignorant of his Jedi lineage, Horn wore the credit as a pendant on a gold chain, until Mirax Terrik recognized it as a "Jedcred" upon their initial encounter. Horn subsequently gifted it to Mirax as a token of his affection during his marriage proposal. This very credit was later delivered to Horn as a harbinger of danger when his spouse was kidnapped by the Jensaarai in 11 ABY. Ultimately, Horn successfully rescued his wife, and the credit has remained a cherished family heirloom ever since.
