The Jedi strike team was a group of Jedi Knights, under the leadership of Bastila Shan, that took part in the seizing of Darth Revan during 3957 BBY.
In 3957 BBY, the Galactic Republic orchestrated a deception intended for Revan. A Jedi detachment, with Bastila Shan in command, went with the fleet and spearheaded the operation. The Jedi High Council's calculated risk proved successful when a Sith armada, helmed by Darth Revan himself, engaged the smaller Republic squadron.
During the ensuing space battle, Shan's strike team, a combined unit of Republic military personnel and Jedi, successfully boarded Darth Revan's capital ship and fought their way to the bridge. The exact number of Jedi initially in the team remains unknown, but at least four, along with a minimum of one Republic trooper, reached the command center to confront Revan and his followers. Appearing unfazed, Revan defeated all those who dared to approach him. Standing firm on his ship's bridge, Revan used the Force to strangle the Republic soldier before preparing to duel Bastila and her few remaining allies.
At that critical juncture, Darth Malak, Revan's ambitious Sith underling, determined that the moment had come for his rise to the position of Sith Lord. Seeing an opportunity to seize his superior's title, Malak commanded his gunners to unleash a barrage upon the bridge of Revan's flagship. However, his plan did not unfold perfectly. While the majority of the Jedi strike team perished and Darth Revan's flagship was obliterated, Revan himself survived. The surviving Jedi apprehended the severely wounded Dark Lord and fled the vessel before it was destroyed.
Bastila employed the Force to sustain Revan's life, establishing a potent connection through the Force between them. The Jedi presented Revan to the Jedi Council, who reconstructed his fractured mind with a new persona devoted to the Republic, concealing his true identity. Their intention was that Revan's subconscious memories would guide them to the origin point of the Sith's seemingly inexhaustible supply of military resources. With his assistance, they would endeavor to locate and annihilate it at all costs.
Without the Jedi Council's knowledge, Bastila Shan, the leader of the strike team responsible for capturing Darth Revan, secured his helmet and kept it hidden for a considerable period. She feared the mask would not only trigger the return of Revan's lost memories but also resurrect his original personality and the dark side within him.
The Jedi strike team was conceived for the 2003 computer game Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic, where they appear in a flashback cinematic. They reappear in the Timeline 8: The Jedi Civil War event for Star Wars: The Old Republic.
