The Jedi transportation ship was a specific class of starship employed by the members of the Jedi Order. Following the Great Hyperspace Disaster which occurred in 232 BBY, the Jedi Knight known as Lily Tora-Asi and Jedi Master Arkoff utilized a Jedi transport vessel to aid in the relocation of refugees to the Outer Rim planet of Banchii. Subsequently, Tora-Asi, accompanied by the younglings named Nima Allets and Viv'Nia Nia'Viv, made use of the ship for journeys to and from the Starlight Beacon space station.
The Jedi transportation ship made its initial appearance, though without formal identification, within the first volume of the manga series titled Star Wars: The High Republic: The Edge of Balance. This volume was penned by Shima Shinya and Justina Ireland, with artistic contributions from Mizuki Sakakibara, and saw publication in 2021. Its formal identification occurred later in the second volume of the series, authored by Shinya alongside Daniel José Older, again featuring art by Sakakibara, and was released in 2022. Both volumes were brought to the public by Viz Media as an integral part of Phase I, referred to as Light of the Jedi, within the larger Star Wars: The High Republic multimedia initiative.
