During the High Republic Era, in the Jedi Order, there existed a Wookiee who had achieved the esteemed rank of Jedi Master: Arkoff. This Wookiee Jedi was stationed on the distant planet known as Banchii, where he collaborated with Jedi Knight Lily Tora-Asi and several Padawans. Following the Great Hyperspace Disaster, Arkoff, along with the other Jedi residing on Banchii, dedicated their efforts to aiding individuals who had been uprooted and displaced by the widespread catastrophe.
Arkoff, a Wookiee, was a Jedi Master who devoted his service to the Jedi Order throughout the High Republic Era. He found himself stationed at the Jedi temple located on the far-flung planet of Banchii. He worked alongside Jedi Knight Lily Tora-Asi and a collection of Padawans. After the occurrence of the Great Hyperspace Disaster in 232 BBY, Arkoff and the other Jedi on Banchii dedicated themselves to assisting those displaced by the event, including refugees from Ta'klah. Furthermore, in the time leading up to the Republic Fair, the Jedi were forced to deal with an unforeseen assault on Banchii launched by the Drengir, sentient carnivorous plants.
Arkoff, being a Wookiee, possessed braided fur on his face. Bell Zettifar, a Padawan, perceived him as old around the time of the Great Disaster. When the Jedi Padawans stationed on Banchii displayed excitement regarding news of the Republic Fair, Arkoff reminded them that, as Jedi, their responsibilities were structured in a certain order, with assisting the people of Banchii holding the utmost importance.
Padawan Zettifar held the belief that Arkoff was quite skilled in lightsaber combat. When he observed Jedi Master Porter Engle successfully defending against mole mines during a Nihil raid on the planet Elphrona, he concluded that Engle's lightsaber skills surpassed anything he had ever witnessed from Arkoff. Being a Wookiee, Arkoff communicated using the Shyriiwook language.
Arkoff's attire consisted of a set of Jedi robes accompanied by a belt and gauntlets, in addition to a darker outer robe. His belt was equipped with emergency rescue and medical tools. In combat, Arkoff wielded a green lightsaber.
Arkoff, a character developed for the Star Wars: The High Republic publishing initiative, was initially referenced in the novel The High Republic: Light of the Jedi, authored by Charles Soule and released on January 5, 2021. On January 27, Star Wars: The High Republic Show revealed concept art depicting Arkoff. Subsequently, he made an appearance in the first volume of the manga series Star Wars: The High Republic: The Edge of Balance, penned by Justina Ireland and Shima Shinya, illustrated by Mizuki Sakakibara, and published on September 7, 2021.
